CONSEQUENCES
October 31, 2006 by His Kingdom Herald.
I don’t like watching scary movies with lots of violence; but here I am in the book of Amos and the Holy Spirit is compelling me to read it.
There are times when Daddy gets angry; His patience has reached its end. He’s telling it the way He sees it and the consequences are on their way.
In the book of Amos Daddy is letting everyone have it; not just the kids next door but his children as well. He is fed up with the oppression of the poor, their ignorance, their violence and their excess.
He has already warned them by sending famine and drought, blight and mildew, locusts and plagues; hoping that they would wake up and realize that Daddy was not happy with them.
Seek good, not evil, that you may live. Then the Lord God Almighty will be with you, just as you say his is. Hate evil, love good; maintain justice in the courts. Perhaps the Lord God Almighty will have mercy on the remnant of Joseph. Amos 5: 14-15
Daddy was patient. He worked with Amos for 7 chapters hoping that His children would listen to the message He was sending. By chapter 8 their time had run out. The scene that followed was anything but pretty.
O Daddy, please let us be able to learn from other people’s mistakes!
I strongly encourage you to DIG OUT YOUR BIBLE COMMENTARY (there is one available on-line through Bible Gateway under the Free Resources section) AND STUDY THROUGH THIS BOOK BEFORE YOU VOTE ON NOVEMBER 7TH.

CONTENTMENT
October 30, 2006 by His Kingdom Herald.
There is a part of me that is actually afraid of being content.
I’m afraid if I’m content, I’ll put up my feet, get comfortable and accomplish nothing during this tiny speck of time I’m allowed to occupy planet earth.
Some people might say I’m a workaholic. I’m not sure I would agree with that statement. But I do agree that I’m goal driven.
Once I get that binocular vision of what “IT “ should be like (verses how it looks now) I am driven. I’m in constant contact with my heavenly Daddy asking Him how in the world we can make this happen.
I know there’s no way I can accomplish “IT” on my own, but I’m watching to see who Daddy is going to bring into my sphere of influence to help bring “IT” to pass.
A thought for your day:
THE HEIGHT OF INSANITY IS TO CONTINUE DOING THE SAME THINGS WE’VE ALWAYS DONE AND EXPECT DIFFERENT RESULTS!

BINOCULARS
October 26, 2006 by His Kingdom Herald.
Sometimes I get so frustrated. . .
I beg and plead with God, asking Him to show me the “big picture” instead of making me trust Him just one step at a time.
I get frustrated because sometimes He actually answers that prayer.
It’s almost as if He lets me look through binoculars so I can see the end result.
The frustration comes when I drop the binoculars and see where my feet actually are. . . I find myself standing in Mary’s sandles asking the same stunned question “How can this be?”.
I still have to trust God to walk with me one step at a time (that part never changes). But now I have something to focus on.
What is faith? It is the confident assurance that what we hope for is going to happen. It is the evidence of things we cannot yet see. Hebrews 11:1 (NLT).
Do you want to look through binoculars? Just study the last two chapters in the book of Revelation - that’s what’s waiting for God’s kingdom-minded people.
Frustrated yet?

WHOLE-HEARTED?
October 24, 2006 by His Kingdom Herald.
He did what was right in the eyes of the Lord, but not wholeheartedly 2Ch 25:2
I know your deeds, that you are neither cold nor hot. I wish you were either one or the other! Rev 3:15
THESE TWO SCRIPTURES HAVE BEEN HITTING ME LIKE A TON OF BRICKS. . .
Are there any areas in my life where I’m just going through the motions in a half-hearted way?
If my answer is yes, what does my heavenly Daddy want me to do about it?
No blogging for me this morning. Daddy’s giving my “whole-heart” a check-up. I’ve never really enjoyed getting a check-up; but I do it anyway because I know how necessary it is.
There’s room on His appointment calendar for you. . . if you’re interested.

YOUR SPHERE OF INFLUENCE
October 20, 2006 by His Kingdom Herald.
Daddy has been reminding me of an old entry in my journal. . .
I was at a desperate place. I had managed to fill my life with all sorts of activities and busy-ness; and I was beginning to realize that many of them were not things that God had asked me to do. . .I had done them simply to please other people (or to please myself).
The following notes were gleaned from a book I was reading at the time. I have refered back to this journal entry countless times over the years. It has helped me to stay “on course” when distractions have threatened to pull me in a different direction.
(I’m usually very good about documenting where the “gold nuggets” in my journal come from. . .this time I didn’t. So, if you find any of this familiar and happen to know who the author is, please post a comment and let me know who it is! I will update this blog and give credit where credit is due.)
YOUR SPHERE OF INFLUENCE
Each of us has a sphere of influence; a collection of relationships about us. At times God will expand your sphere of influence by bringing new relationships to you. Other times He expands your influence by sending you into into unfamiliar territory. Your sphere will enlarge for the purpose of representing Jesus.
YOUR SPHERE CAN BE:
a) AN AREA This is earth, dirt, land, territory. It is claimed for His sake and His kingdom (see Deut. 11:11&12 / 24&25 also Joshua 13:2 plus chapters 14-17 and chapter 21). It matters to God who gets what land, and the borders are important as well (see Numbers 34). Read the rest of this entry »

THIS CAT CAN HUNT!
October 18, 2006 by His Kingdom Herald.
![]()
What’s a nice girl like me doing in front of a computer screen and 3:30 am?
My mouse-detector just went off again! (To get the background information on this modern-day parable, you new readers will need to read “The Mouse Guest” blog dated September 26th).
This story actually began at 11:00 last night. . .
My blankets were all toasty warm, and my icy feet had just gotten warm (thank you, dear husband of mine!)
When what to my wondering ears should I hear, but the thumping of cupboard doors calling me near. *smile*
When I got to the kitchen I was puzzled. I had expected to see one of our house cats frantically trying to gain access to a lower cabinet; but no one was in sight.
Then I saw one of the cupboard doors thump again (I still have safety locks on my lower kitchen cabinets from my 10 year stint as a daycare provider). I released the safety latch and out popped the little space cadet that no one took seriously as a mouser.
He must have been trapped in there for atleast two hours, irreverantly walking over my tupperware and weaving in and out of my canned goods.
I find the timing of this event VERY INTERESTING. . .
I had just gotten back from a pro-life rally where a local church was packed with people listening to speakers brought in by the South Dakota Family Policy Council.
By the end of the evening we were informed, empowered and impassioned to make every day between now and November 7th count.
O Daddy, how I pray that the body of Christ in this state will be as committed as my little cat!
That we would be willing to step into a realm where we risk the possibility of disapproval; knowing that the pestilence we pursue must be apprehended at all costs.
MAY YOUR KINGDOM COME
AND YOUR WILL BE DONE
ON OUR TURF
AS IT IS IN HEAVEN!

A WHOLE NEW PERSPECTIVE!
October 16, 2006 by His Kingdom Herald.
I don’t fly very often; but when I do I always request a window seat. You see, flying for me is a deeply spiritual experience.
I told the businessman sitting next to me, that I thought everyone should be given a chance to fly at least once every 2-3 years. . . it helps keep things in their proper perspective.
“You mean it helps you realize just how insignificant you really are?” he asked.
“Yes, and yet at the same time it makes me realize just how precious I am.” I replied.
“I look at all of those houses down there; I’m 3 states away, and he knows which house is mine. Most amazing of all. . . he knows the number of hairs on my head!”
I booked a late flight on the way home.
A star-lit sky hovered above a black velvet blanket of earth. The bright clusters of city lights looked like beautiful pieces of golden jewelry, each with it’s own abstract beauty. The space in between these brilliant works of art were studded with soft, white points of porch-light.
Suddenly everything came into an even clearer perspective! Read the rest of this entry »

THE WAY MY DADDY READS IT
October 14, 2006 by His Kingdom Herald.
Once you have submitted yourself to The King, and become a citizen of His Kingdom, you are no longer entitled to your own opinion. . . His thoughts become your thoughts; His ways become your ways. . .
We stood facing a solid brick wall for 3 hours (remember the Berlin Wall?).
There was a banner bolted to that wall:
“These Doors Will Stay Open. Planned Parenthood serving Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota.
As I stood there praying with red tape over my mouth, I began to ask my Heavenly Daddy what He thought about that sign.
(for more information on this red tape; find the LINKS section on the right side of the page, look for “Life Support” and then click on the “Bound4Life” link)
THESE DOORS WILL STAY OPEN. . .
Daddy had me read Isaiah 22:22 “I will place on his shoulder the key to the house of David; what he opens no one can shut and WHAT HE SHUTS NO ONE CAN OPEN”.
As I thought about the innocent blood that was being shed in this place. I was led to Psalm 72:14 He will rescue them from oppression and violence for precious is their blood in his sight.
PLANNED PARENTHOOD. . .
. . . an oxymoron when you consider what they actually do. “Un-Planning Parenthood” would be more accurate.
SERVING MINNESOTA, NORTH DAKOTA, SOUTH DAKOTA. . .
. . . serving is misspelled; the word SEVERING is more truthful.
Before I left, Daddy had me scratch the scriptures quoted above in pencil on the sidewalk in front of that sign.
As I was writing this blog I found the following scripture:
For all men are like grass and all their glory is like the flowers of the field; the grass withers and the flowers fall, BUT THE WORD OF THE LORD STANDS FOREVER (1Peter 1:24 and 25).

SHE’S BACK!
October 13, 2006 by His Kingdom Herald.
Wow, God can really pack a lot into four days! I’ve got enough blogging inspiration to last me atleast a week.
A big welcome to those of you I met this week at the Silent Seige in front of Planned Parenthood and at the annual gathering of the Misson America Coalition!
I didn’t give my cards out to a large group of people. I only gave them out when I felt Daddy giving me a nudge, so it’s no accident that you’re reading this today! Read the rest of this entry »

A FAST DINNER PARTY
October 7, 2006 by His Kingdom Herald.
A friend of mine stopped by work yesterday. He was sharing a bright idea that came to him after reading the “Goose Bumps” blog. (It talked about “fasting in stereo”).
If you’re really serious about getting your Christian friends exposed to the discipline of fasting, here’s a creative way to promote it!
Invite friends and family over to your house for a huge dinner party. When they all show up, just say “Oops, sorry we’re fasting tonight. Would you like to join us?”
We had a good laugh over that one and then started coming up with all sorts of creative names to give this non-dinner party. “Well we can’t call it a Daniel fast, that one’s already taken (the prophet Daniel ate only vegetables). Maybe we should call this one a “Scotch Fast” in honor of our frugal Scottish friends! . . . and on and on it went. . . Read the rest of this entry »
